Personal Work
Ideas are wonderful - they inspire, they delight. But to bring them to life requires experimentation, the work behind the scenes. Growth happens in darkness, it requires freedom, it demands passion, attention, and space.
This is a space where I can bring to light some of the work that I made for me. To challenge, to delight, to grow. Maybe work that doesn’t fit my main portfolio, but it captivates in its own way here.

Sleeping Giant (2010)
Time for another dive into the archives, as we look at Sleeping Giant from Cornerstone Festival 2010.
I remember this show so clearly. The sense of anticipation before they took the stage, the energy in the room…

Living Sacrifice (2008)
My recent post about seeing Extol play Furnace Fest, with Bruce Fitzhugh on vocals, reminded me that I had photos of Bruce’s band, Living Sacrifice, from a 2008 appearance at Cornerstone Music Festival sitting in my archives.
Living Sacrifice formed in 1989 and had a huge influence on the scene I loved growing up.

The Showdown (2010)
Returning to the archives for another look at The Showdown. This time from my final year photographing (and attending) Cornerstone Music Festival (RIP) in 2010.

The Showdown (2007)
I’ve lived in Nashville, TN for many years at this point, but growing up in the UK, I wasn’t really aware of the style of country music popular here. Maybe Shania Twain made it through, but that was weird American music.
Enter The Showdown.

mewithoutYou
Philadelphia based mewithoutYou are a band I’ve seen a score of times and listened to for decades. So when they announced that they were going to be hanging it all up after many years by going on one last tour I knew I had to be there.

John Mark McMillan
John Mark McMillan (and band), based out of Charlotte, NC, recently came through Nashville, TN on their Awake In The Dream tour. This was my experience.

David’s Tent
The first year I went to David’s Tent was just as just as an attendee. I’d heard about it from friends who has attended its launch the year before. An event of Christian worship music that went non-stop for 72 hours. No breaks, no stopping for sermons or seminars, just people singing praises to God for 72 hours straight. I was intrigued but unsure whether I would love it or feel overwhelmed.
